Ok I used to read this forum a while back but didnt post (boo lurkers!).

Anyway I did Photography as part of a degree in Fine Art a few years back. I lost my camera and some equipment ina fire but last year replaced my Pentax K1000 (basic but lovely). I've still let to give it the attention it needs as i found digital keep me lazy and happy.

Anyway I plan to kick myself in the ass and start taking more time for it.

Heres a shot i took a few weeks back, technically not great but i like it ;)

    Hiya :D

I like that shot. The dark corners and the light coming in from the window at the back are what make it for me. I'd be inclined to make it even darker though!

If you get the urge to use film, it's not as awkward as you think since you can get the negs scanned along with the processing and I think it's cheaper than ever these days. Ironically, now I've gone digital the couple of rolls of film I have lying about have made me think of the creative possibilities that they create, for cross processing, a pinhole cap on my old 35mm body, fun stuff like that.

Hope to see you around here more... get shooting...

I like the darker shots myself, probably because of other interests so heres a darker one:

I hope this isn't cheeky... I just saw something in the first picture, and wanted to see what you think.

It's probably too cheesy but you might like it.

P.S. You're making me want to go to Charleville...

That holga type one looks like a still from a silent movie ! nice one. I think they are pretty cool very atmospheric and horror movie like - I agree that the candle one could be a little darker/richer toned.

Just out of curiosity where were they taken ? It looks like it could be a good location for a photo shoot.
