Looks like this is now open, anyone go to see it? Impressions?

Wonder what the membership fees are? Their website says there is a 350 euro saving for the first 500 members.

Its a very very nice GYM, large number of equipment, excellent "Urban" workout room, the pool is one of the largest in Dublin City. AFAIK there is no contract you pay a sign up fee then a monthly fee and you give 3 months notice to terminate, so I guess it could be called a 3 month rolling contract.

Anyone looking for a gym in or around Smithfield should call in and have a look.

That's a gym? I thought it was a sandwich bar. HA HA. I'll have to check it out. What's an urban workout? Similar to parkour?

Excellent gym. It is not crowded yet, so you don't have to wait for equipment. I wish the free weights were in one of the larger rooms as it is some times a little tight to walk around.

The pool is big, plus jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. Changing rooms are comfortable. too.

anyone know what the costs are? as in joining fee, monthly fee, any old random fee? :)

the web site looks like a "phone us and we'll tie you in for a 30 min conversation not really telling you anything but persuading you to come in and waste more time before we even let you know how much we're gonna charge you".

thinking of joining the gym close to work, and its either this or the small gym at the hilton hotel which seems to be quite reasonably priced. (45 euro per month)

this gym is not new its open several months , is a good gym , weights area pretty small , even though they have some down stairs

over all its an excellent gym , but very expensive i know my full membership is over 900 for the year i think the direct debit is about 90 a month

the only problem now is the polish body building element are starting to take over the weights area which can be off putting to members

    they guys are massive dinosaurs

    other wise grand gym

    Ah, the hard sell technique.
You go to the gym and want a tour and maybe chat to an instructor about classes, equipment and facilities and also get a brochure about prices and special offers so you can have a coffee and think about it.

Instead you get meet a “membership consultant” who puts on the hard sell and tells you about the one time mega never to be repeated in your lifetime special offer that expires in the next 30 seconds.;)

If you’re going along to check the place probably best to bring a friend so you don’t sign up to a long contract on impulse and without thinking about it.

Yea there are lots of classes like spinning, body sculpt, abs etc. Pool is a great size and never too busy, cardio machines are always busy but never waiting too long, a few bodybuilding dinosaurs but only the typical amount for such a gym.
Overall would recommend but is quite pricey (about 220 to join and 79 per month or 70 each with a friend) and unless you live very close to it you'll find other gyms as good or better for less. Also closes at 6 on a sat and sun which isnt good at all in my opinion. Hope this was helpful

I've a friend who's a member and I've done a few workouts there - wasn't too impressed to be honest though, it's a tad showy and they don't have kettlebells which kinda sucks. The instructors are pretty run of the mill too, you're not going to get any proper instruction from your review unless you're willing for fork out an extra few bob for a PT session. The weights room gets pretty packed in the evenings too.

Overall, if it's handy for you an if you're just looking to do classes and have a swim then it's grand, but if you're looking to do your own workouts and have any kind of focus on weights then I'd look elsewhere. I just think it's too expensive for what it is.

So there are no velociraptors doing concentration curls?

A T-Rex doing deadlifts to elongate his arms would be interesting, I'd say he'd rock at the rows.
