Want some active job.....

Hi,

I always had hard time choosing a profession,... I thought I'd follow computer path but I'm not too sure... I mean sitting in an office for 8 hours a day.... not too keen on it to be honest, plus I'm good with computers, can do basically anything..... but, I'm not really geeky to become say main programmer for a big gaming software company, so other "desk job" does not interest me....

Thought to follow economics.... i.e. business, but not too interested in money, yes I like money, but I'm not "money crazy" it's not the main objective of my life.

I want some active job something that's variable from job to job...... thought of the Army..... don't know haven't decided yet, it looks attractive to me... but I don't really enjoy killing people..... so...... like I mentioned haven't decided yet.

But what I do enjoy is helping people and animals, when they're in the need, I really enjoy it.

So I was wondering are there any rescue I don't know what they are called "groups" or companies in Ireland? like there are in the USA like 911, so you can rescue people from car crashes or house disasters or something like that... ?

I want to do something as a steady permanent job, but to be honest I'm kinda lost... please suggest something

Why dont you volunteer at your local vet or animal shelter, maybe something part or full time might come out of it?

If you are not the desk job type person but are active and would enjoy helping others than Paramedic career would surely be a consideration.

I'd recommend joining your local Cival Defense Casaulty service and see how you would like the job. You will get first aid training and get to see what the job is like in real life, many paramedics are active volunteers in the Cival Defense and as such you will be able to ask them directly about the role and see if its for you.
Its a tough career to get into and voluntary duty will definately stand in your favour.
