Pumas destroy Wales back to back and take an arguably stronger ABs team closer ( including Carter ) then we did.

France beatung the Boks and at home.

Are we going to get out of the group?:(

In seven games the Pumas have only beaten Ireland twice.

If we play to our best, should get through after France. Are Argentina definetely taking America 1?

Reckon we're all being a bit previous here....lot of water to go under the bridge between now and WC...we've got the small matter of autmn internationals, 6N, HC, CL, christ knows who'll be left standing or for that matter what new players will have put their hands up.

If it was happening tomorrow, I'd say we'd struggle, but in a years time God knows....but if current trends continue, i.e. weakening scrum, fading halfbacks, ultra conservative management...well it could be a relatively short outing...

"Arguably" I am not as much an expert at Kiwi rugby as my desk mate, but he was quite happy that a very strong team was fielded. He still keeps tabs on the rugby back home a lot more than any one here so I would respect his opinion on that squad....but I did say "arguably" as I knew people would ;)

as far as stats on the last time we played Argentina....of what relevance is that to be fair! The last time was 27/11/04 ( as he reaches for pile of programmes to confirm )

With regard to the last time we played Argentina, my point is that their status as a 'bogey' team for us should now well and truely be laid to rest since we've beaten them in the last RWC and since then.[/QUOTE]

I agree they are not a our "bogey" team any more they are a team to be reckoned with in their own right and as such give us no certain passage through. I hope you are right though or I will be crying into my criossants:D

I wouldn't be surprised if France lose out ....

Saw the Argentina v NZ. The game certainly didn't contain the same level of intensity imo, although that may have been because of the conditions.

Argentina didn't show any pace or skill out wide and kept it a quite close, kicking game.

Had to laugh at the Kiwi commentators.

I think Ireland will fins 1 or two new players in time for next year. Things couldn't be going better for us.

By the way does anyone know who we are playing in the Autumn internationals??

No we don't. We'd be much better off if we used them to bring palyers into the side. If the same 15 that just played Australia play Australia and South Africa we'll have thrown away an opportunity.

At the moment I'd like to see Trimble tried in centre for a match. Heaslip should be brought onto the back row for a game. M O'Driscoll should get a game at 2nd row. Stringer should be rested for at least one of the games and Boss/Reddan tried at scrum half.

Most importantly we need to get a new out half playing at some stage for a game (not just against the Pacific Islands)

If we did all that and lost 2 or even 3 of the games while playing well I'd still be relatively happy

full agreement re: Trimble, its his natural position, he does not look comfy on wing against class international opposition. Tuquiri had him for breakfast....in every area that matters i.e speed, physicality. But can we please can the Boss debate...he will never cut it at the top level....
