Just got Season 2 of this on DVD and looked at the first 40 'episodes' today (if you count an 8min clip an episode) and just wanted to know what people taught of this...was it a pair of metal heads trying to score...or was it a funny comedy with even funnier jokes?

One of the best shows ever. Very funny.

I primarily liked it for the breaks of alternative music videos that Beavis and Butthead would critique on.

They're not on the DVDs though. Real shame.

Classic show.. I still remember the episode where they're dreaming and Butthead imagines himself as Captain Picard and in the Brady Bunch, with Beavis as a Martial Arts student and a "overenthusiastic" Hiway Patrolman - way before Cartman insisted we "respect his authoratah!" :D

Great show. Would even buy the dvds but I've heard the parts where b+b talk over music videos aren't included (lets face it they were the best part of the show!).

Anyway. I think you can see all the episodes on youtube if there's any particular favourites you want to see again.

Mike Judge is reportedly planning to revive his cartoon Beavis & Butthead.

According to REVIEWniverse, a source has claimed that Judge is currently working on 30 new episodes.

The insider explained that Judge has not yet signed a deal for the comedy to be broadcast on MTV but could post it online if the network decides not to air the new series.

The source also revealed that Judge is planning to keep the cartoon's original look and format, although the animation could include more music clips.

The reports have not yet been confirmed.

Confirmed: Beavis, Butt-head and Music Videos Returning to MTV
    movieline wrote:
Instead of reviving the brainless cast of The Hills for another disappointing season, MTV has decided to go highbrow… by resurrecting Beavis and Butt-head. As obnoxious as the 90s duo was (and will no doubt continue to be), I think we can all agree that the network’s programming decision is a positive one. Because let’s face it: Beavis and Butt-head to The Hills is like comparing Masterpiece Theatre to…The Hills.

According to the New York Post:

The new series would keep Beavis and Butt-head in their perpetual high-school state, but it would be updated so that the pals — who obsessively watch music videos on a battered TV set — could lob their snarky comments at more current targets like Lady Gaga.

But MTV also has an ulterior motive for the boys’ re-introduction:

The return of Beavis and Butt-head will be a backdoor means for MTV to return to showing music videos — something the network was founded upon but abandoned in the last decade to make room for popular reality shows like Laguna Beach, The Hills and Jersey Shore.

While MTV has confirmed that the show’s creator, Mike Judge, will be creating the new episodes, the King of the Hill creator is not yet commenting on the project.

Now if only MTV could cancel The City and bring back Daria…
