.bin files on intel mac / y! messenger

    hi.

    Ive downloaded yahoo messenger for osx, a bin file.

    Its trying to open it in VLC player.

    Can anyone tell me how to open/mount this file. Toast isnt doing it for me.

    Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

    Have you tried Disk Utility?

    Hi Sin.

    Ive only been using osx about 8 months so Im not a superninja yet. I located Disk Utility in Utilities and tried to open ysmgr.bin but its not working. If I right click and try to open the bin file with disk utility, dick utility just opens in the usual fashion with options to do stuff to the main hard drive.

    What programme usually opens bin files? Dick utility? Toast? Stuffit?

    Im downloading stuffit universal binary BETA as I write this..

    Yup - stuffit expander did it.

    I just presumed bin files would expand automatically on a mac. The stuffit unibin beta worked a treat.
