Crown Lengthening Question?

I had Crown Lengthening done on 8 of my top, front teeth this day last week and my gums are killing me. The stitches havent dissolved yet. It is particularly tender and swollen just over my two front teeth (At the back/roof of my mouth). Feels like I have burned the roof of my mouth. Im rinsing my mouth 3/4 times a day with salty water and Im following all of the post-op instructions. Is this normal or should I call back to the dentist. Im due a check up next Friday anyway.

Does anyone have any experience with this procedure? I dont really want to be running back if this is perfectly normal.

Plus, Ive got this really horrible taste in my mouth.

Very quiet in this forum lately. Has nobody got any experiences with crown lengthening?

The sutures can take a few weeks to dissolve so I wouldn't worry about that too much. The horrible taste MAY indicate infection, so probably wouldn't have been any harm to give your dentist a call. As you're going back tomorrow, it'll be checked out anyway at that point. A procedure like that can leave things pretty tender for a while though. Is it any better now?

    Hi Wight.

Yea its a bit better. The sutures are gone. Instant relief the minute they were out. The roof of my mouth is still a bit swollen though and very very tender. Feels like I got a blow to the tooth. Is it unusual for my bite to feel a bit misaligned?

Also, every now and again my gum throbs. It can be so bad sometimes that it gets sore.
