My favourite album is Louder Than Love, but unfortunately I don't actually own all of them. I'm sad to say I'm missing their first album Ultramega OK.

As for my favourite song I really don't know, it all depends on my mood. I went through a phase of loving 'Tighter & Tighter' from Down On The Upside. No particular song sticks out for me right now, I love them all.

Great topic by the way, good to know I'm not alone in my love for Soundgarden!

Probably a weird one but I'd say Like Suicide on Superunknown

It has to be Louder Than Love for my best album, and for my best song it's Get On The Snake, It makes me feel good :)

Not to be cliched or anything but I think of Spoonman as one of their best songs. Either that or Black Hole Sun. :)

Yeah same as above, Spoonman, or Black Hole Sun.

Badmotor finger, and spoonman is unreal, same with blackhole sun. What ever happened to them, like why did they break up?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,967 ✭✭✭Pyr0

I think they called it quits because they didn't like all the fame and glory that they received from their fans AFAIK

Nah, it was Cornell and Thayil having those infamous "creative differences" that caused tension in the band. There were a few incidents after the release of their last album Down on the Upside and eventually they just called it quits. I don't really know what Thayil has been up to since, last time I heard of him he had done some work for Grohl's Probot album...

I always thought their last album was Superunknown ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,405 ✭✭✭gizmo

Nope, Superunknown was released in '94, then Down on the Upside in '96. They broke up in '97 and at the end of that year the greatest-hit "A-Sides" was released.

Not weird at all, tis my favourite one too.

Hard to choose between Badmotorfinger and Superunknown for an album, but I think Superunknown just gets it for me.

Not sure about favorite album, but Room A Thousand Years Wide and Black Days are tied for my favorite songs.

The kick in the nuts at the start of RATYW is FANTASTIC! That riff and the scream are so crushing!

Fav song is tied with Hands All Over and 4th of July
    Best album Louder than Love.

Cornell is a god, I hope the new Audioslave album is better than the last one.

If we keep things going might get a poll started, Fav Album or Fav. Song?

Badmotorfinger is their best album IMO, followed by Superunknown.

    Songwise though (in no order):
    Outshined
    Pretty Noose
    Face Pollution
    Jesus Christ Pose
    Drawing Flies
    Like Suicide
    Spoonman
    Fell on Black Days
    Blackhole Sun
    Gun
    Hands All Over
    Little Joe
    Let me Drown
    Rusty Cage
Searching with my Good Eye Closed
    Mind Riot
The Day I Tried To Live
    Mailman
    Birth Ritual
    Power Trip

Not really too keen on anything off "Ultramega OK"....
