Irritating auto page-scrolling

Is Boards.ie the only site on the Interweb that auto-scrolls 3 or 4 times most times you open a new page?

Open a new thread/page scroll down, find just the post you want and as soon as you start reading the page jumps up and down like an epileptic rat on a Barbeque

    - Worse still just when you return it to the right spot.... it waits quietly and then takes off again, up and down randomly, crappily and seemingly without reason

Its a real FFS generator I reckon.

    Not a problem I've experienced.

The only thing I can think of:

When you load a thread from the front page, i.e. www.boards.ie, it's set to automatically go to the next new post in that thread. If you start reading the thread before the page is fully loaded, it will automatically jump to the end when the page finished loading. It's unavoidable.

If it's constantly doing this even when the page is fully loaded, the problem must be on your end.

Aye that's it I reckon. The auto scroll is to show you the last post that you have read. That's why when you click on a post on a forum it will automagically take you to the page and post of the first post after you were last online.

Not much you can do to fix this I reckon, unless you mark all forums read. Or you could get a faster internet connection.
