another 5/10 hand

id been playing VERY aggressively , raising most hands when unopened pot.
i was getting called a lot as a result.
recently i made it 50 with TT on button, SB called, flop came 986, i bet 120, SB called, turn came 2, i moved in, he called with 64, river a 4. (to show how loose my image was).
Id represented several flushes and things and shown the bluffs to encourage my image.
For this hand i have 900, villian has the same. He had only played a few hands, but been aggresive in the ones hed played, and i cant remember him showing anything down. (although the previous round i made it 40 on the button, he made it 100, i called with 66 and folded to his flop bet).

I picked up A9 hearts on the button, and made it 40 again, he made it 100 again, i called (first mistake perhaps).

Flop comes 942 rainbow, he leads for 200, i decide to call.
Turn comes an 8, we both check. (i was afraid of check raise here, and wanted to see the river)
Pot is now 600, and we both have 600 behind.
River is another 9. He moves in and i call in a flash .....................

well your play is fine and you have to call there at the end as well.
the only thing is when creating a loos image with the intention of getting paid with ur big hands is fine but TT,and A9 are not big hands.
you have been showing weak hands as bluffs and then you go raising with A9 and calling reraises so i dont think its a good idea.
i would do this with QQ,AK,KK,AA or something but after showing down bluffs and being very active i dont think its good idea getting invloved in big pots with weak hands.

I wouldnt say calling his raise pre is a bad move you cant fold to silly little raises like that or everyone will stop having any respect for your bets.

On the flop I probably raise, but calling is fine if you think he could have an overpair obviously if you have him on the overpair then you must check the turn, and the river is an autocall if your behind just tough luck.

Why do you raise the flop?

we have called with A9, the flop is nine high, thats a good flop for us, villain recently showed down 64 lets put some pressure on.

Not after he reraised. And why do we want to put pressure on bottom pair?
Hmmmn, Im not sure I like a raise on the flop.
Seems like a good way to get stacked V overpair and let villain off with AK/AQ which have only 3 outs, when they might either bluff again, OR hit an A and go broke with us.

I wasn't sure the SB that showed down the 64 was the villain ?

Edit: missed that this wasnt the 64 chap.

Calling is fine but given the way Rob is playing and the texture of the flop I would raise.

Did you not read the hand this guy played with 64? this is exactly the type of player I have no problem raising with a9 here.

Dont get me wrong calling is fine but I will bet the flop here.

I did read that, in that case, that villain called a single raise preflop and then went ape with bottom pair.

This particular villain has reraised preflop (and I dont even know if its the same guy)

you sure you got the villain as having played the 6 4

"For this hand i have 900, villian has the same. He had only played a few hands, but been aggresive in the ones hed played, and i cant remember him showing anything down"

I just got UL then?, i wasnt sure how bad calling the re raise with A9 was (i did have position), or just flat calling the turn (i figured it was a way ahead, way behind situation).

Perhaps villian bets the turn also with AA here?

I was happy he had AK when he checked turn, then he pushes river, it didnt add up, i did have to call though.

Villian had 88, i got stacked.

the curse of posting in work

still interested in what the villan cold have pushed with have him on 9's full of 8 and would have folded but then I am definitely not a 5/10 player

I think you played it perfectly, on the flop to get stacked your opponents needed to hit a 2outer and you needed to hit a 6 outer, pretty unlucky.
