how do bet so that i can give up my job and live a lavish lifestyle from my winnings!!!!???

or maybe on a more realistic footing does dutching work in practise?i know v little about horse racing but read an article (i think on boards) about this some time ago and it seems too good to be true!

Id very interested to hear from anyone who has tried lay dutching not to be placed any horses below 2/1 to be placed in handicaps with 10-15 horses. I tried it for a while and made nice returns but had to stop due to time constraints. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried this

well numerouno dutching isn't really my thing but in some respects its similar in returns to laying. it can work for you if you have the experience and knowledge to select the right races to do it in.
basically you're looking to back 2 or more horses in a race to win. a lot depends on the prices that you can get for the horses.
if you want i can send you a simple dutching calculator that allows you to dutch up to 10 horses in one race. it might give you an idea of returns and how to actually do it but be careful if you're going to put it into practice you can lose a lot of cash. when i did it many moons ago i used to try and get the first 3-5 horses in the betting to give me returns of minimun 25%. in laymans terms 3-5 horses giving you an actual price of 1/4 or better.
the races have to also be vetted and i used to avoid handicaps unless it looked too good to be true.

anythings good if you can make money from it personally i don't like laying horses not to place the prices look good but there is a reason for that

Hi Numorouno. Dutching is backing more than one selection in a race. I currently have a system on trail - see the thread entitled 'dutching'. Somewhere in the thread (first or second post) there is a dutching calculator (uses betfair odds). As you will see from the trial, it is not as easy as it looks and can be a bit of a rollercoaster :)
