EPG Question

Hi All,

I Just signed up to sky for 1 year mainly to get the hardware and install done cheaper than anyone else was quoting. Not interested in a sky+ sub.

I mainly want to record stuff to dvd / hd for viewing later. Got a phantomplus to help do this. The phantomplus interfaces with EPG/ Skyguide so the whole thing relies on there being an EPG for each channel you want to record.

From what I can see after 2 weeks of playing with it as an standard Irish sky subscriber you cannot get EPG (skyguide) for most of the ITV, 2 of the BBC channels and of course you cannot get C4/C5 at all. Also nothing you have to add into Other Channels on your digibox shows up with EPG.

So 2 questions for ye, all replies appreciated:

1.
If I get a FTV card from ebay/uk relative to use in my sky digiox does anyone know if the uk channels (ie itv1-4, bbc1-4, cbeebies, c4, c5, and TOP appear with EPG ?

2.
I am hoping to buy a hd/dvd/pvr device. While the phantom can turn a recording device on / off it is a bit primitive. Does anyone know what the most advanced hd/dvd/pvr decive is for a sky ireland user? Ie one that is smart enough to understand what it has recorded via a menu system of some sort ? (Again - not interested in sky+ box if at all possible, also do not want to introduce a computer to the mix)

i have a digibox and freesat card i got from ebay/uk.

i have all the bbcs and itvs and c4/c5.

they are automatically in the epg.
