AA utg. I make it 30. Loose idiot calls from mp. Other idiot calls from the BB. The flop is KK5 two spades. BB checks, I check, mp bets 24, we both call. Turn is a king. We all check. River blank (below a 5), sb checks, I bet 100 into the 150 pot, mp folds and sb is all in. Its $300+ to me. I?

Not sure about the flop, I think I usually bet. You have to bet the turn though, all the fishies with pairs have full houses now and can't fold.

    As played I call.

Whats villans range pf? Is he loosey goosey?

I think I might fold. I can't see why he wouldn't make a move on the turn if he had a pp.

I know you usually bet, it doesnt make it best though. On the turn I want to keep the pot small since I think my opponents allthough idiots, will suspect that one of the other two players could have a king.

I dont know him well, but im pretty sure he is an idiot so his range is probably pretty wide.

I think this is one of those hands you can't get away from. The king could be out there. But it's not the only hand he'd play with. You had to call. And I say you did, and he had the king, or else you wouldn't of made the thread. Or maybe you folded and he turned over QQ. Poker really sucks.

Yeah I'd fold. Holding a king here is not that unlikely.

If he had a pp he would've let himself be known in the hand before now, and he's not re-raising on the river, he's going to call. A hand with any showdown value in this situtation is always scared of the king.

So to me it's either a bluff or a K and I think if he was going to bluff, he would've had a pop straight out on the river. It would take a helluva lot of courage to do it this way!

I usually bet the flop because underpairs like to not believe I have a K and call alot. I like to build pots vs hands I am ahead of.

When the third K hits I'm going to the felt with this all day long. Again this means getting money in the pot.

if a lot of money goes in on this flop I will tend to be behind!

    He may have 66

A muppet would do this with 77+ and obviously the K.
Your ahead of almost all his range expect the lone K.
You have to call 300 to win 650 so you’re getting 2.1:1.
Also you feel that if he had the K a muppet would usually min raise here or something so everything considered I think this is a call.

Either that, or he just got 'Eddy Eagled' with King rag

I think I'd like to be able to fold here, but knowing me I'd call and lose to some stupid K that shouldn't have been there in the first place... :(

Im never folding here, we can expect to see a king as often as any pair 77 - JJ.

There is enough in the middle to make it a call.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,212 ✭✭✭MrPillowTalk

Just had another look thought it was only 200 more to call, not so clean cut when its 300, I still call but I am an optimist.

    Result?

    I folded, he didnt show

I think it was a good fold. Why would someone checkraise allin a 100 bet into a 150 pot? I don't see why a pocket pair, a hand that wants a showdown, would reraise like this here. They'd only be called by a hand that beats them, a hand that HJ could well have if he bet like that on the river. This guy was waiting for someone to bet again so he could checkraise them.

Yeah I think it's a good fold. People rule out quads with three of a kind on the board far too often. It's very hard to put him on a hand that you're beating and he's raising you with on the end.
