You'd be better off getting the Blues Junior I reckon, the Pro's just that little bit too limiting. And the BJ's not that much more expensive. My guitar teacher swears by his, plays with it at basically every gig he plays.

Our guitar player got one, didn't think much of the speaker so replaced it with a jensen, but still saus it doesn't cut it. I reckon(and so do many people I've discussed it with) that the Epiphone Valve Junior is a better buy in that low range. We actually bought a couple of them and I use mine live nowadays.

Blues Junior might be nice though.

How would the Epiphone Valve Junior do for a home practice amp? I mean do you have to really crank it before it sounds good? Also, I read that it hums a lot, is that true?

EDIT: Another question - do any music shops in Dublin have them? (I know Waltons and Music Maker dont)

Hey Johnny, replied to your other post before I read here.

As regards hum, there' none on the MKII version, although Epiphone aren't calling it Mark 2, allegedly they don't want to admit an error in the original, but that's just something I heard. No hum on mine anyway, smells just fine too.

    lee_baby_simms,

there's a Blues Junior going for sale on Gigsmart.

Do it. Just do it. (As the Doc would say :p )

If I wasn't saving every penny for the damn house, that baby would be mine. Mine mine mine and just mine! :(

Edit: and don't diss the Pro Jnr, it's a killer amp.
