I know it's a little early but does anyone know who if anyone is doing tours from Ireland. There possibly won't be enough demand so we might have to go through a UK operator. I'm a closet cricket fan and giving it serious thought - Paddys Day in Kingston - Pakistan v Ireland - sounds like a good way to spend the SSIA!

Couldn't agree with you more - the best way to spend Paddy's Day. Certainly beats standing on O'Connell St in the rain watching rusty tractors and goose-pimpled majorettes from Alabama...

To the best of my knowledge Sadlier Travel are doing some sort of a package - you'll get their number from the book.

The mere thought of missing it is making me weep.
And short of winning the lotto, that's what is gonna happen

The sea, the sun, the spliff.
And possibly a game of cricket too:o

Thanks for that TrueDub. Sadlier Travel are listed on the official site. I must have missed them because they are listed under "Eire" wherever that is.

    Cheers.

No worries - let us know what you hear from them, if you don't mind. I'm checking several ways of travelling, so the more information the better!

They are only doing full 2 week packages and the cheapest one is €2300. I can only really get time for max. two of the games so I'll look into doing it on the cheap. Contact them and they'll send you the package - 6704880.

    NOTES

PLEASE FIND ENCLOSED FINAL DETAILS REFLECTING UP TO DATE COSTING TO

INCLUDE RECENT FUEL SURCHARGE LEVIED BY BOTH AIRLINES AND LOCAL TRANSPORT COMPANIES PLUS INCREASE IN AIRPORT TAXES. WE SHOULD POINT OUT

THAT IT IS POSSIBLE THERE COULD BE FURTHER FUEL SURCHARGES OR AIRPORT TAX INCREASES.

    SUNSET GRANDE JAMAICA

ANYBODY WHO HAS BOOKED AT TODAY’S DATE (29TH JUNE) WILL BE COVERED BY THIS SPECIAL RATE.

JAMAICA IS THE LARGEST ENGLISH SPEAKING ISLAND IN THE CARIBBEAN WITH A POPULATION OF 2.5 MILLION PEOPLE.

THE COUNTRY IS VERY MOUNTAINOUS WITH THE HIGHEST POINT, BLUE MOUNTAIN, REACHING 7,402 FEET (2,256m). JAMAICA ABOUNDS IN FINE BEACHES AND SCENIC BEAUTY HAD HAS SOME 120 RIVERS.

ON AUGUST 6, 1962, AFTER MORE THAN 300 YEARS OF BRITISH RULE, JAMAICA BECAME AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY. TODAY JAMAICA REMAINS A PART OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF NATIONS.

OCHOS RIOS (THIS IS WHERE WE PLAN TO BASE IRISH SUPPORTERS AS IT IS THE NEAREST RESORT AREA TO KINGSTON). OCHOS RIOS IS ONE OF JAMAICA’S FAVOURITE SEASIDE PLAYGROUND AND THE CARIBBEAN’S PREMIER RESORT DESTINATION. IT IS NOT ORDINARY, IT NEVER HAS BEEN. LIKE MANY PLACES IN THIS PART OF THE WORLD, CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS IS CREDITED AS BEING THE “FIRST” VISITOR. IN MOST PLACES “OCHOS RIOS” WOULD MEAN EIGHT RIVERS, BUT NOT HERE SOMEHOW THE NAME CAME ABOUT AS A BASTARDISED TRANSLATION OF ANOTHER SPANISH WORD. OCHOS RIOS IS SURROUNDED ON ONE SIDE BY VERDANT MOUNTAINS STANDING TALL OVER THE COBALT BLUE CARIBBEAN. IT IS A LITTLE SLICE OF EDEN WHERE COUNTLESS BAYS, SECLUDED COVES AND SPARKLING BEACHES EMBELLISH THE COASTLINE. LIKE A GARDEN PARISH, EXOTIC FLOWERS PAINT A COLOUR PICTURE ACROSS THE LANDSCAPE AS THEY INVITE YOU TO SHARE THEIR FRAGRANCE.

There are cheaper options, try access travel, know they were putting together a package that was 1k cheaper than Sadlier Travels price.

the cheapest deal there (2300) isn't too bad really. there is no availability in kingston itself for the weeks around the games. i'm thinking of heading up country and just heading into kingston for the games. if you don't want to go with the package and would prefer a more jamaican experience than staying in ochos rios there's some good info from this story in the guardian
    http://travel.guardian.co.uk/countries/story/0,,1086193,00.html
getting to and from wherever you pick to stay will probably add a few hundred quid. reckon we'll beat zimbabwe given their form in the icc, now could we catch the windies on a bad day?
