I'm going to test out a new advanced backing and laying system that I've been tirelessly working on for the last few minutes.

I'll be starting with a bank of €1,355.62 and will be placing bets based on the following rules:

1) Any horse whose name starts and ends with a vowel and is running at a track which begins with a vowel (eg. Araafa at Ascot) - back for €41.05 (if I feel like it)

2) Any horse with two double-letters in its name (eg. Yasoodd, Peeress) - back for €35 (if I feel like it)

3) Any horse whose name combines three or more words into one (eg. Flowonlovelyriver) - lay for €20 (if I feel like it)

4) Any horse whose name contains the name of a girl with whom I yearn to have sexual relations (or used to yearn) (eg. Buffy) - lay for 3% of my current bank (whether I feel like it or not)

5) Any time I use the word "lay", a winky smiley, , must be used in the close vicinity of that sentence.

6) Any time I use the word "back", a happy smiley, , will suffice.

7) When reporting on a win, a very happy smiley, , will be used.

8) When reporting on a loss, I will make reference to how I am jinxed / this thread is jinxed / that's how my luck has been going lately / some other excuse, followed by an angry smiley, :mad:, followed by how I expect to overcome these losses soon, followed by a cool smiley, :cool:.

9) I can change and adjust these rules to anything I feel like and whenever I feel like it.

I developed a complex computer program called CrumbsSystem3000™ which uses all these rules and an extra secret rule (which I call Rule X) to come up with the day's tips.

I'm very confident in this system and I expect to make so much profit in the next few months that I will then start charging people for my tips, so don't miss this great opportunity to get in right from the start.

Nick, I don't know if you managed to get that loan sorted today or not but just to let you know that from tomorrow morning, all banks will be offering special low interest rate loans to people wishing to fund their use of CrumbsSystem3000. They are so confident in its success, they say they can give the money away. From next Monday, they will no longer offer mortgages on property so that they can put all their investment funds into CrumbsSystem3000 themselves.

Yes fade, i know what that problem is. Seemingly, all the mobile operators in Ireland were struggling today to keep up with demand due to the unbelievably high volume of texts to the number. So many people want to get in on the system that the networks crashed. Meteor almost went out of business around 3pm this afternoon. If you get up very, very early tomorrow morning (say, 4:10am), you might get through.

Jimmyboy, "Ad Valorem" doesn't end in a vowel so wasn't a qualifier. As for Elhamri though, it gets pretty complicated. Yes, it satisfied the rules to qualify as a bet but for extremely complex reasons which I won't go into, the system left it out. Basically, the system knows what it is doing so I suggest we leave it be. Don't question the system and the system won't question you!

The System picked him because of the double-letters and vowels and as usual, the System was right. I happened to fancy him as well but wasn't confident enough to post in the daily ascot thread. He's won two consecutive races in each of the last two summers and most other races he runs are to get his mark down for the next double whammy. I felt they were targeting this race and don't be surprised to see Uhoomagoo win again soon.

Hold your horses Skud! Today's special qualifier is the opposite to yesterday's, in that The System is recommending a lay on Otwosam. That is, it thinks the horse will lose! You see, the name of the horse has three words mashed into one and it also contains the name of a girl for whom I used to have a sexual yearning. This horse cannot possibly come close to winning.
