No, they're not expanding in to Poland (unlike the ESB and AIB...), Magnet are now offering a fairly exploitative sounding "Polish" package. It gives you TVP3, TVP Kultura and TV Polonia and some free minutes to Polish numbers on their VOIP system...

Three FTA TV on 19E channels doesn't make a cable system - I'm guessing you get their base pack too, because if not, two months cable fees will get you the dish and box required to get those three channels, and about 5-10 more Polish ones too. You'd think they'd at least try to get TVP1/2 and some of the other channels (like VIVA/MTV Poland, etc).

But hey, at least its an Irish cable firm thinking for themselves for once.

TVP1 and TVP2 are what the Polish want. Plenty of PayTV dishes in Limerick. This won't entice our Nrth European friends to Magnet.

    Indeed.
And they are brave taking on LLU too.

You'll be getting, oddly enough, TVP3, TV Polonia and TVP Kultura on 19E, which is exactly what Magnet offer.

Theres an MTV Poland on 13E I think - as thats where their two payTV packages ago.

how come mtv is free on 19deg east and not on 28.2deg east??

Because the Germans (or Austrians or Swiss) don't "do" PayTV. Country bigger than the UK, barely 3M subscribers to Premiere. Compared to what, 8M in the UK for Sky.

    Exactly.

That and letting our own DBS licence go to people who never used it, never reclaiming it, etc, etc, etc.
