    lol
    tests.. what tests... :D

theres an experiment after the production one, (in my book anywho...)
    reactions with..

the base of all bases... NaOH. where sodium ethanoate is formed + H2O

a nice carbonate. Na2CO3 which also forms 2 sodium ethanoate's and CO2 and water...

    and , *drum rolls*

with magnesium. magnesium ethanoate is formed... and lovely H2... the pop test....

thats the ones i learned. the others.. are also good.

in my book also add sulfuric acid and ethanol. that should make an ester and then it should smell fruity (like bananas if I remember right)

    there are 3 tests.

Sodium Hydroxide. It goes pink. Phenolphthalein indicator.

Sodium Carbonate. Bubbling is seen. A lighted taper is put at the top of the test tube. CO2 is produced so the taper goes out.

Magnesium. Hydrogen give off. A lighted taper ges POP.

    Thats the three
