I mean the really big ones that are basically all over Dublin. When they're built does somebody make sure that there are no other cranes within reach? Sometimes the really look like they could hit each other. Imagine the damage if one of the feel in an urban area.

Mods: I wrote "or" instead of "ever" in the title, can you change it?

Yes there is someone there to make sure the cranes don't hit each other - a banksman

I've seen clips of cranes collapsing, but its very rare.

Contractors can't afford to mess around when setting up cranes, so everything is done precisily and carefully. You'll never get an instance of two cranes colliding.

What a question I have never seen a crane alling down but I can only Imagine the damage it would cause.
I wonder how they get the things down that must be a job in it self.

The tower cranes are fairly strong. They have 120 tonnes of counter weights at the bottom of the crane and can stand wind speeds up to 170mph(leabher ones anyway) TBH I wouldn't have the balls to climb one.
You might learn something here http://science.howstuffworks.com/tower-crane4.htm

Nothing to do with collisions, but I recently found out that the reason that most fall over is that they leave their brakes on. Cranes always point the same way when they're not in use, with their "arses to the wind" so to speak. This is because the brakes are left off, so the wind can blow it freely, so there's the least air resistance possible.

There's the useless fact for today!

It was actually crap, rope and camera cuts is what made it look semi real.

A lot of work for 10mins of video.
