It's one of a number of items I've tried looking for with Irish racing and have never had any success. I'd also be interested in finding any draw stats, favourite stats etc. It's really a pity there is no Racing Post equivalant for Irish racing.

You haven't found them because there aren't any - Irish racing does not keep a centralised store of record race times.

If you contact Nick Mordin, he may give you a list of the fastest times recorded from the Racing Post from the last 10 years or so.

I had computerised speed ratings of Irish flat races. There was a bit of work collecting times at all tracks and all distances run there. My info also included draw and its effect, and how going increases/reduces draw effect. The info is probably from the mid-1990's. A problem was the small number of races at each distance, especially at the provincial tracks.

I'm not sure if I could dig out the info as I have had a few computer changes since then. I am more interested in pedigree analysis.

Anyway record times mean very little. Just look at the record times in England. I doubt there is a good horse among the record holders.

Was the data collected by hand? Did you follow any particular speed rating methodology?

Wasnt so much after the times to see which are the best horses, was looking for it more so for a specific course to see how the horse had faired against predecessors on the track at the distance :)
