Am heading over to thailand for September and October, I heard its monsoon season...does that mean it just rains all the time or whats the craic with it? iS it still warm and sunny? How often does it rain normally?

And Thailand in September and October, will there be anyone there, like in the clubs and stuff or will everyone be gone home? Theres 3 of us heading over (all lads) would it still be worth our while?

And where seems to be the cheapest place to get flights?

I know there is loads of other threads on this matter but none of them seem to answer my questions,

    Cheers

    hey gary,

do not be ever phased by the monsoon issue.

you can visit thailand any time of year.

at worst, it rains for a few minutes and then stops and if anything it's a relief not that it will get unbearably hot in sept or oct.

try booking in a travel agent as soon as possible. if you havn't the cash at the moment, try lastminute.com at the time. i've been monitoring it at the moment and i've been constantly getting prices at or around 600 euro. but that's from london. you could get that london/bangkok price all year round i would guess.

pack lightly, you'll get the necessary clothes i.e t shirts, shorts and sandals for much cheaper than over here.

bring a smile and you'll get 10 times back.

    enjoy,

    sawadee cap...

    Hi gary,

I booked some flights through trailfinders over the weekend. As always they were very helpful, they'll find the cheapest and most convenient optyions for you.

Ok cool im going to book flights with USIT, they are 785euro with 1 stop over (in Paris). That sounds perfect, trailfinders quoted 820.

On the internal flights question, we plan on flying from Bangkok to Ko Samui or Phuket, should we book the flights well in advance or wait till we get there?

i was over there for September 5 years ago and it was very humid but we were in an air conditioned van and our guide would give us little frozen towels when we got out ;)

we booked flights while we there in an internet cafe and it was no hassle though i suspect they would have been a good bit cheaper if we had booked in advance. bangkok airways more or less have a monopoly on flights to koh samui so you'll have to book with them. think it was about 60 or 80 each from phuket to koh samui and something similar from koh samui to bangkok. check out www.thailandflights.com for links to all the carriers for internal flights.
