Depends on where the person bought the ticket. Ticketmaster tickets are blue (IIRC), and recently there were a load of fakes for Robbie Williams, which were orange. I don't know about other vendors.

It depends on the ticket, not the selling site
    Which ticket is it?

    its for oxegen (camping) ticket

    Well, from the website
If you didnt manage to get tickets this year, then once again we do advise you not to turn to ticket touts or unofficial websites as not only will you pay well over the odds, but you may be paying for tickets that do not exist and you will not gain access to the festival with a forgery”.

Is there a pic of the actual ticket? Is there a good reason for selling it?
Can you arrange to meet the seller and verify it before handing money over? Mind, it could be a very good forgery still.

im meeting the seller before hand. its just that he's not charging in excess of the price so making me kinda iffy bout it.

(how wierd is that - im suspicious of someone who duznt want to make a profit ;) - lol! im such a business student!!)

no he/she could just be a decent person, not everyone bought tickets to oxegen to sell them off at rip off prices.

go for it, but look at ticket first, if he's a decent seller he/she won't mind this.

see if he has all ticket portions still attached to the original tickets. In all cases there should be a receipt stating total transaction details and in some cases if tix were bought on credit card the cardholder name & address will also be attached. You can try asking him to see this before you buy but otherwise its tough to tell the forgeries...

That's what an Oxegen camping ticket looks like.

Ensure it is legit by the hologram.

I was offered one "cheap" at €250, just because I went to the same school as the guy. Be vary wary of such a low price.

I didnt either. I bought it for a weekend of what i thought might turn out to be good music. Final line up is here- not one rap act, the only outstanding artist on he bill is Felix Da Housecat. Damien Marley is good, but not worth 140 euro. The Chillis are appaling.

After the appaling line up Im torn about whether to go for the buzz or sell it at world cup final prices. Sorry, but business is business, its not my fault some gobsh1te couldnt be arsed getting it back in March or whenever. Always amazes me how in winter people dont have the money for it for weeks. Roll on summer and everyone can afford to pay 600 euro for one. If you dont have a spare 140 euro at any time in your life you really need to sort yourself out.

i'd be in the same boat, i wouldn't buy a ticket for the sole purpose of touting it but if i bought one with intentions of going then found out i couldn't then i'd tout it but only if it was close enough to the gig if there was a week or two i'd rather sell it on boards for the face price.

you're right if someone wants to pay crazy amounts then let them like

i think i have one upstairs... i'll scan it tomorrow.

And i bought an oxegen ticket for e180 a couple of weeks ago. 4 of em actually. Was a little dodgy about it but just looked at the hologram and stuff and had talked to the guy a bit beforehand so believed him to be genuine. I'll get back to you in a couple of weeks :P

arent most countereits printed on stolen ticketmaster blanks?
make sure that the wriitng on the tick doest smudge.
ticketmaster tickets are heat printed, not ink printed so cant smudge.

as above, check for the name on the tickets,
check the serial numbers are sequential, and ask to see the receipt.

Just get a friend who has their own ticket to come with you when youre buying it.

    two reasons:
You can compare the new ticket with one you know to be real.
plus, you have an extra person and an extra set of eyes.

I can really see this happening at oxegen this year...especially with the huge amount of tickets that are on sale on ebay and BandS,tonnes more than usual(thus the relativly low prices they are going for)

Last year I bought the tickets in buy and sell, went up to the gate, monkey scanned them, machine beeped and it came up the tickets had been purchased with a stolen credit card. So we were held in a room by security waiting for the gards!tey never arrived,we begged the monkey men to let us in and the only way they would was if we paid them the 160euro in cash into their pockets...bastards. So not only did i pay an over the odds price for the ticket but i had to pay an extra 160 at the gate.

So i always say to people buying a ticket off ebay and buy and sell to only buy one that has originally been purchased with cash(its written on the stub) as this cant be a lost in post or stolen cc job. Or eslse go to the sellers house, as a dodgy seller wont want you going to their house cos you woulkd come back and deck them afterwards.

There is going to be a hell of a lot of disappointed people turining up this year and getting refused.....its the reason there are so many tickets still for sale on ebay etc......because id say most of them are cancelled tickets.

Yes they do - the stamp has the name and address of the sound cellar - however they do change the colours
