Hostel: Tarantino's 'version'

I heard, when Hostel was about to come out on the Silver Screen, that Tarantino was to do his own film of that type, and that's why he presents Hostel (in the same way he presented Hero and made Kill Bill). Is there any news on Tarantino's version?

Maybe your referring to "grind house" which is due for release late this year or early next year. Its a joint project between QT and Robert Rodriquez. The idea is each director does a 1 hour film(unconnected to each other) in the gindhouse/exploitation style(QT's movie is a slasher film involving a car and RR's is a zombie flick if im not mistaken) which are played back to back with ads for fake films seperating the two. Im absolutely dying for this. Dont think ive ever been looking so forward to a film before being a massive fan of QT,RR and grindhouse cinema. I dont think thats the reason he was involved with hostel though( by the way he was executive producer not just "QT presents" as with hero). I think he just liked the movie and thought it would do well. Hes a complete media whore and he loves publicity.

I think thats an ongoing project. He's always been connected with other ideas as well like a film about the vega bros(vince from pulp fiction and vic from reservoir dogs) and a third kill bill. But hes definately doing grind house and it will be his next movie. footage has already been shot but it was halted for some reason and will resume soon.

Have to laugh at the cast list for Grind House on imdb:
    Naveen Andrews: Badass Miliatary Scientist
    Cathy Baron: Hot Pedestrian.

I heard that they were collaborating to do a horror movie, this is the first I've heard of it though. Two 75 minute films that join together.
