This show is just an absolute disgrace now, i just watched the new episode there on sky, some ridiculous episode where granpa simpson isnt actually homers dad, but then in the last 2 minutes it turns out he actually is, the jokes were the usual ****e that seems to be a recurring factor in these rubbish episodes, i really wish theyd stop making them

aw no I still love the Simpsons. Whatever episode you watch you know you're going to get a laugh- a lot of laughs. Even the ones you've seen millions of times before...which reminds me, why WILL RTE2 insist on showing the same 20 episodes over and over?? It's so annoying when there's, what, like 400 episodes??!!!

i agree with Emeraldstar... they sure are still a laugh... both old and new episodes.... They have plans for a simpsons movie, due to be released in summer 07 !

Well it must still be pulling in some pretty good audience figures if it's being comissioned for 2 more seasons; which begs the question who actually watches it en masse?

Because they only have the rights to air episodes from (a) certain season(s) at any given time.

If I'm not mistaken there was talk lately of bringing back Futurama alright. Definitely a good idea as long as they don't do like they have with the Simpsons and let it go on till it's actually painful to watch!

I thought Sundays episode was pretty damn good for a show thats been going 16 years, particularly given how bad some recent episodes are. Classic Homer quote, when Hibbert is revealing whether Grandpa or Mason Fairbanks (a guy Homer believes is his dad, and who he tracked down) is his dad

Dr Hibbert "The father of Homer Simpson is......MASON FAIRBANKS!"
    Homer "......whos Mason Fairbanks?" :D

Havent watched a new one in at least a year, was cack last time i did.

I think they decided to make 4 'straight-to-DVD' episodes/films of futurama.

The Simpsons is absolute sh1te - I can't believe that the producers were asked to make another 2 series. It boggles the mind.

They are indeed. The nails have been hammered into the coffin. It's time to put it out of its misery and, to quote Kent Brockman on Poochie: "I have a feeling that no children are gonna be crying when this puppy is put to sleep."

ye know i didn't think that at all, when they had that gag i thought, wow now thats flogging a dead horse, homer doing a "what/who now?" quote, it's irritating to see the crap they spew out now although last week was watchable, it's foxs fault, noone involved in the show could or should throw away a good pay check, fox are ringing it for all they'll get. i'm still baffled at how crap the last few years were and then i'll watch my season 5 box set esp the Cape Feare episdoe and the rake scene will have me in stitches again.

I would agree with what has been said before, woeful and dragged out etc.

Although, there was an episode from season 15 i think it was, called Catch 'em If You Can, where they obviously parodied the movie Catch me if you Can. I thought it was quite good in parts.

You never know, they could get in some good writers and maybe throw out the odd good show every now and then.

    Don't count on it.

Is one or 2 "good episodes" really worth all the drivel they will send out in the meantime. IMO I think not.
