    Hi,

I yesterday purchased hosting with Blacknight and organised
the transfer of the domain name from go-daddy.com .
It didnt ask me for any details about my transfer
    of the domain.

But the domain is still registered to go-daddy.com and
im pretty sure it isnt going to be moving anytime soon.

So does anyone know how i complete the transfer of
a domain from one company to another?

    regards

When you request the transfer, the new registrar queries the domain info.
If the domain is marked as "locked", the transfer doesn't take place.
Otherwise the new registrar sends an email to one of the contacts (not sure which one), with a link to authorise the transfer of domain.
Once it's authorised, the transfer takes place.

If you didn't receive a mail to authorise the transfer, chances are the domain is locked. Contact blacknight support to find out (or log into your go-daddy account).

    Administrative.

Sometimes the losing registrar does this too, before the domain transfers.
    Contact blacknight support
This should have been the OP's first step.

Domain transfers, more hassle than they're worth if you ask me. Especially trying to transfer from Eircom via Network Solutions, a nightmare!

It's not as bad now as it used to be, though Eircom's refusal to update nameservers is really annoying.........
