I want to buy some of the traditional sweet jars that used to be in the old candy shops. I found some online, like here: http://www.treasureislandsweets.co.uk/acatalog/Classic_Sweet_Jars.html but I'd prefer to pick some up in Dublin.

Anyone know of any places? Was thinking maybe Spoils in Jervis or places in Temple Bar ... anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks a million :)

Sweets used to taste so much better out of them

Definately. There used to be a shop in Cork Wallaces and it had rows of them, i used to go in all the time as a kid on Faranlea road. ironically the place was converted into a dentists surgery by their daughter and son in law! Spoils in the Jervis or the Purple shop maby?

Kavanaghs on Aungier St may stock them.
They seem old kind of old sweets in those jars.
Great place... kept my sugar levels up during college :D

Keep your eye on the Lidl offer sheets. I've gotten these jars twice in there now. Nice glass things filled with hard fruit sweets. They're only 3 or 4 euro as well IIRC.

The Gourmet Store in Kilkenny sell sweets in those jars. They're so nice!
