    ULTRA MONTANES
THE ULTRA MONTANES are, at long last, back! Having already made big news with their debut album (Q gave them a staggering 5-star review), The Ultra Montanes have finally emerged from their shady - albeit nonetheless more than interesting - existence with a brand new, yet unmistakably unique sound... "Sterilised" from their current EP "DIRTY BLOOD SAVED OUR TOWN" has already been picked up by radio stations. Not only that but the band is currently recording a brand new single which is to be released before the summer kicks in!
"Dirty Blood Saved Our Town" is available at all good record stores in Dublin (and at Mulligans in Galway, I'm told), and while some mp3's are downloadable here, there is more at their own website, www.theultramontanes.com.

    THE BLOOD RED MOUNTAIN BAND
A five piece Alt Folk/country/pop band, from all over the place but currently residing in Dublin. They have been playing together for the last year with seven members in the beginning and some tenative forays into recording have seen some remarkable changes and improvements in the sound and style. Gone are the loose, sloppy,seat-of-the-pants gigs which were out of neccessity rather than design and in are the super tight intricate performances of the incandescant kind. This last year of hard gigging and double timed rehearsals had seen them really gel as a group and this is apparent in the live perfomances, which really get the crowd going, forcing even the most reluctant foot to stomp. Theres only one way to find out for your self. The Blood Red Mountain Band believe that gigs should be free/or as cheap as possible, so you've no excuse. If you really want to see us play and can't afford it, email us and we'll see what we can do. P.S. If You are a prison warder how about getting us a gig in your jail.... just a thought. Last year we got a few high profile gigs like Hard Working Class Heroes, Art in Arcadia. This year we need lots more gigs, so if you need a support act we will play anywhere. We can nearly gaurantee a crowd of our fans will go too. We once had 25 Dubs turn up for a gig we did in Connemara last year! So if you can help us out, we'd be greatful. And we won't forget to return the favour. As a great and wise friend of mine says, keep it country. Thanks to the previous paragraph, this summer we've a heap of gigs in the offing all around the country, if you're in a band from one of the towns we visit and want to chance your arm for a support slot, give us a bell. the earlier you get in touch the more likely there's a slot free.

LPX / SOME CARS ARE FASTER THAN OTHERS
    And according to Paul Bluefood...
    'One man air punching'
Aural assault via verbal and sound sha'ttack, this Electric Fixer is known for abrasive and commanding shows, expect dubby sounds by way of mountjoy divison and synth growls by way of your (f)ears : |
