Convert different file types(WMV, MPG, AVI) to DVD/MPG format

I have a few different files which I want to put onto a dvd.
    For example:
    file 1: whatever.avi 600MB 1:42 800x600 XVID 1080kbps 29.97fps
    file 2: whatever2.mpg 300MB 00:28 320x288 mpg 29.97fps
    file 3: whatever3.wmv 240MB 1:05
    etc.

I want to convert them both so I can put them on a DVD, possibly using TMPGenc DVD author, or another such program.
What is the best way to do this?
I have tried to convert the wmv and avi to mpg format with TMPGEnc plus(or express, can't really remember) but got errors halfway through the conversion.

I dont have the particular errors at hand now but it's something like "invalid source audio" possibly..

    Very vague thread

Tmpgenc can do anything convert them all to AVi 1st , ensure the quality is fine then join them if you want one dvd of them all.
Or insert them as selectable movies on the same dvd with a snazzy menu tmpgenc does all of that.

If you are unable to do the job with TMPGEnc for whatever reason the check out ConvertXToDVD it will do exactly what you want.

    Is it the weekend already?

This question is constantly popping up. As 8T8 recommends ConvertXtoDVD is the job but make sure you use the full version or a web link will be across the top of your DVD picture.
