Just wondering if anyone knows if the use of an MP3 player is permitted on flights across Europe (or anywhere for that matter!)

    Thanks
    Tom

depends on who you're flying with, aer lingus don't let you use them, ryanair do.. not too sure

You can use them on most airlines but not during take off or landing.

Sorry Lenny, but what are you referring to? Laptops or MP3 players? I've a flight to Spain with Aer Lingus soon and would like to use them both. What happens if you refuse to follow instructions:D

I fly with Aer Lingus fairly regularly and have used my MP3 player, laptop and PSP on flights with no problems, in fact on one occasion a stewardess asked for info on the PSP and how to get tunes/movies onto it.

Just make sure, if you're using your laptop, to disable the wi-fi and/or bluetooth.

It's a throwback to tapedecks, they had radios on them. hence they were banned. asuming you mp3 doesn;t have one you should be fine. even if they do ban them just wear one and see if anyone complains. it's what i do
