Hey, I'm trying to send about 12 or more cans of Guinness to America. I really don't know the best way to do this. Anyone know roughly how much this would cost and how to do it. Maybe someone has sent stuff there before? For instance should I go through An Post?
Really need to move quick on this one, so any help is much appreciated!

It will be pretty expensive. I am sure it has some meaning but you can go to an american website to deliever the booze. It would be a lot cheaper

they really don't like ya sending cans through the post as they are so easy to burst and ruin a lot of mail.

Would it not be more feasible for whoever you're sending them to just to buy some in a local offlicence stateside? I mean Guinness is 20% stronger outside of Ireland.

    Really?

I thought there were loads of different brews of it depending on the country. Some stronger alright

You can't send liquid through the post AFAIK.

Make sure to wipe away all traces of cocaine from around the rim of the can as the sniffer dogs will be on to you before you can say "Fcuk I knew I should have used a romanian drug mule"

why on earth would you want to send guinness to the usa
when i lived in woodside queens i used to walk down the beer depot (or the deli) and buy 12 bottles of guinness (imported from dublin) for 10 dollars
thats 7 euros or so.... alot cheaper than what youd pay to buy them her (never mind sending them)

not true. some countries measure the content of alcohol in different measures, in ireland its measured % by volume afaik, but the americans measure it some other way...

While you're at it why not mail some Tayto crisps too?
One of my mates did a stint in Iraq and I had to send him a box of Tayto cheese and onion crisps every month. And also some porn.

I'm not sure you're allowed send alcohol through the post.

    you would be correct.
a guy i know from another forum i post on sent me a six pack of coors light (empty) from america as a joke. the package was opened by american customs and they inspected it and then left a note saying 'it is illegal to send alcohol through the mail, but if you want to do it again, send budweiser the next time'.

Well **** that idea then. thanks for the replies, he'll have to buy his own beer over there!! i was looking into Guinness themselves sending over some to him, as i heard its possible to send it straight from the company itself. has anyone else heard of this, or even done it? when i rang they said they only deliver in masses, like big crates and that to companies!

You'd be better off sending a dozen large bottles of Guinness through the post.

Far less likely to break or spill.
