Giles Armstrong at Electric Circus on the 17 th June. One of the men responsible for running Dublin’s Techno emporium Electric City.2001 saw the Dublin DJ make the move into promoting and, as the co-founder of Electricity, is dedicated to bringing the best new Irish and international techno and electro names to Dublin hosting quests like Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, Dj Rush, Ben Simms, Andrew Wetherall, Speedj J and the list goes on.

Giles Armstrong is one of the leaders of Dublin ’s techno new school. In a city steeped in the electronic legacies of Detroit , Berlin and Stockholm , Giles’ dedication to, love of and in depth knowledge of underground techno still manages to make him stand out from the crowd.

By 1998, he had secured a slot on respected Dublin pirate radio station Power FM and had started the Punish Techno Show. Representing a wide range of techno and electro @ www.powerfm.org.

Apart his own DJing, Giles’ show featured mixes every week from different Irish techno DJs, guest mixes from international names like Oliver Ho, Paul Damage, Gayle San, The Hacker and Percy X as well as interviews and giveaways.

The Punish Techno Show helped propel Giles’ musical passion and DJ skills to a wide audience and it wasn’t long before he was playing all over Dublin and beyond.

The Dublin DJ’s fusion of tough club techno, deep grooves and electro references have seen him support some of the most respected names in electronic music and Giles has warmed up for Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Green Velvet, Luke Slater, Slam, Damon Wild, Surgeon, Justin Berkovi, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer and many more!

Although many techno DJs are content to focus on samey looped, club tool sounds, Giles’ thirst for new music means he’s still as much a music fan as he is a DJ.

Citing producers like Taksi, Johannes Heil and Holger Flinsch as well as more established names like Steve Rachmad, Ricardo Villalobos and The Advent as his favourite techno producers,

Also on the bill are Waterfords dj's

Peter Breen who has been a regular with Electric Circus since the start and will be living his beloved tribal sound at home for this one and show he’s versatility.

Chris O' Reilly has proven himself to be one of the hardest working dj's with some excellent techno & electro sets played for E.C all ready this year.

David Halligan has been spinning records for nearly 8 years and it hasn’t gone on noticed having been on warm up duty on many occasions for E.C smooth minimal being the operative word .

Giles Armstrong and quest’s play’s Electric Circus at The 19 Bar Michael Street Saturday 17 th June 06
