    Title - ‘Retouching, Workflow and Apple Aperture’

In this seminar you will learn how to design your own imaging workflow coupled with the ultimate in image quality by adding together high-end retouching skills and actions.     Apple Aperture overview

    This is a new and very different piece of software, whether you use a Mac or not, does not change the fact that this software is going to change the way we work. Aperture offers a unique perspective on how photographers will work in the future.     It's not just black and white, there are many different ways to create or convert a colour image to black and white. Most people wonder why they can't re-create the depth and levels of detail previously only achieved in the dark room. We will show you how to go way beyond what was previously only the domain of the traditional darkroon to produce images with a stunning level of quality, speed and most importantly consistent, reliable repeatability. Citing real-world examples, hear how photographers across a range of applications are benefiting by way of speed, convenience and ultimately through financial reward by using the Nikon WT-2 Wireless Transmitter in their work.

    Belfast based professional photographer Jim Moreland celebrates 40 years experience in photography, and is noted the first Irish photographer to be awarded a Fellowship of the British Institute of Professional Photographers – he has also received many Irish and International prestigious awards to date, including the honor of a ‘Peter Gruegen Award’. Sponsored by CALUMET – Jim is delighted to present a presentation of his wonderful work to date. His works include high quality Monochrome hand printed images, ‘even with the advent of modern digital capture’. With a fast moving visual presentation, showing a kaleidoscope of images that he takes in a normal day of work, and he will also illustrate what he considers his best mono images. Jim’s presentation style is light hearted, entertaining, while informative, and in doing so he would like to raise funds for a worthy charity close to his heart, ‘The Marie Curie Cancer Care’ – a small donation from persons attending this particular seminar would be extremely grateful.

    It looks good ,personally I'd be a bit intimmidated and would think it's more about sales to the industry.
    Although the black and white talk looks interesting.

    It is pitched at people that make an income from photography and run by Helen Burke from IrishPhotoNews but dont let that stop ye if you wanna go, go ;)

    Unfortunately,I'm working all that day. I'd say some of those topics would be really interesting,and even if it's aimed at the pros , you would probably pick up some useful info.

    Definitely worth a look. I have a confirmed studio shoot on Sunday so i can neither make Trim or Liffey Valley. :( Looks like it would be a great day out.

    I'm definitely going. Anything to improve/speed my workflow is very welcome. Recommended to anyone, including non-pros.

    I've met Guy a few times, he even set up the correct colour space in Photoshop for me. This made a huge difference to my shots!

    He really knows his stuff and €10 is well worth it for even one of his seminars. This is something anyone interested in using the right software to make their shots better should consider attending.
