It's a little bit hit and miss... but some bits are brilliant.

I love the Steve Coogan and Alfred Molina scene... and Iggy Pop and Tom Waits are great too.

I like the bill murray bit ,the idea is so simple though ,the props budget was probably 10 grand or something.
    Very economical:D

It was actually filmed over something like 15 years.

If you liked it you should check out some of Jim Jarmusch's other films.

Mystery Train is one of my favourites.

I haven't seen his latest one though, which is called Broken Flowers. Bill Murray is in it. I'm not a huge fan of Bill Murray though, I find he just plays the same part all the time.

Thinking about that, he used to always play the blackly comic, charming guy (see Ghostbusters and Stripes) but now he plays the unintentionaly comic, downtrodden mid-life crisis-er (see Lost In Translation, Rushmore and Broken Flowers.

It's as though his character suffered some wild blow, like his children and wife dying in a blaze. What I now want to see is a film about the character and his transition from happy-go-lucky to down-on-his-luck. Sounds like a job for Charlie Kaufman. It could be called... Being Bill Murray's Acting Skill. It'd be the kind of film where proton packs and prenuptual agreements could star, side by side, and not feel out of place. It's a brave new world.

Maybe he killed them and hasn't told anyone

but seriously ,maybe he's just one of those actors who is honest about his life and doesn't want to be something that hes not.

Thanks monkeyfudge for the tip on Jim Jarmusch's other films ,I'll check it out.
I almost started lookin in the world cinema section in Tower the other day ,but i chickened out.Always love finding a gem that I hadn't heard about.

Everyone I went to see Coffee & Cigarettes with a few friends. They all hated, but I liked it.
