Must.... not..... begin debating online galleries.... again

Aaaaaargh - I can't help it, I used to think flickr was complicated but I'm converted. Just do it, do it now and you won't look back. I won't say any more, I promise.

Google have just announced that Picasa (their photo editing software for windows) will be able to upload photos directly to a photo web album like flickr. It's on beta at the moment but as part of their test, they're offering Picasa Web Albums and the latest version of the Picasa software by invitation only.

You get 250mb for free and 6gb for 25 dollars a year.

If you'd like to give it a try, add your Gmail username to their first come, first serve invitation list at: http://picasaweb.google.com

You can see what it looks like by clicking here http://picasaweb.google.com/gdewilde/Netherlands

That's quite a good concept. It'd be good if you could get a photoshop add-in as well...

what an utterly hillarious crowd of ****ers you really are. I never thought the photography forum would actually make me titter slightly.

Do I get a sense that people (men mostly?) are hiding behind their anonymity and acting in a way they wouldn't out in the real world? Is this a photography forum or a slanging match? I'm getting confused.

This string is about photo sharing on the web. If you've nothing constructive to add stay out!

I thought it was meant 'tongue in cheek' style... at least that's what my reply was.

digitalbeginner, I think you'd be hard pushed to find a forum that isn't full of keyboard hardmen. I've known far too many of them in my time... it gets to the stage where I just let it wash, it's too common to even worry about any more. Thankfully there are some decent characters, moreso here than anywhere else I've found, to make up for it.
