    anyone know of any free software to edit adobe documents ? something like openoffice maybe?

    Really, PDFs aren't meant to be edited extensively. With Acrobat you can edit a bit of text and it will reformat it for you. If you're thinking of extensive edits, you must go to your source files, edit those, and convert back to PDF. There are many freeware PDF creators in the form of virtual PDF printers, like PDF Creator
