    Howya all,
I want to start up a rockabilly, psychobilly side project by the end of the summer and am looking for musicians. My intent is to start off in the traditional way by doing covers. Some Link Wray, Jonny Cash, Elvis, Stray Cats, that kinda thing.
It will be focusing on the darker side, like Link Wrays "Hidden Charms" and the rockier Rev Horton Heats "5-o-ford"
    So I need,
    A good Guitarist
    A good Drummer
A good Bassist (pref double bass)
    I'm gonna take on singing.
The group will be called Citizen Sin
If you're interested or wanna ask anything, PM me with your email address and/or your phone number
    Thanks
    Papa

Can you do lead? And I should also say, I'm 26 and Dublin City Centre based. Age is of unimportance as your ability to play should be the main thing.

just a few bluesy licks... luther perkins style if i can work them out slowly in my own time, i certainly can't play lead on the spot

i'm not into solos in every song, and i'm not into shredding, and i'm not eric johnson.

12 bar runs, open chord country melodies and major/minor/powerchords over the neck...

    drumcondra based.

oh you know, batmobile, nekromantix, the meteors, ricky nelson, spellbound, mad sin...you know...whatchabilly :P i can play upright if i could get an upright ;) me no have no money or know anyone with it...so methinks im not much use to you, still though if you could sort a bass i could do it no hassle. oh yea ive been playing bass for about a year...time doesn't justify my playing ability (not claiming to be les claypool here) but i was playing guitar for about 5 years before i picked up bass so i had the foundation if ya get me

Listening to spellbound now... Can't sort out a double bass. You're coming to Dublin in August? We'll see what we can do.

You don't really want a double bass Papa, they're too bloody awkward. It'll make it much easier for you to find a bass player anyway. I'm in a rock and roll band myself but we have a pianist too.

I play drums. don't really have a style yet - but I do like rockabilly

A double Bass may be awkward but it's part of the over all style.

    for example

well ill do the bass if a double bass aint required, i can make a bass sound like a double bass a lil bit anyway and ill sort ya out with samples if you wanna hear. but yea if you havnt found a guitarist ill do that, im not fantastic at making up psycho riffs on guitar but i can do it pretty well...lets just say i can do it well but if your expecting the reverend horton heat then youll be **** outta luck with me ;)

Dayum, I love Brian Setzer, and the Stray Cats, and I play guitar. BUT, I'm in Cork. So that's a no no. You'll need a big brass section to make this band work, it adds a whole dimension to it. You could always catch a J90 Gig and speak to Shane the lead singer/guitarist. He's a huge Setzer fan, and knows most of the catalogue, he wouldn't leave J90, but he might start a side project, ya never know!

Thanks for the tip. Looks like the bass may be sorted. Drums are on my *crossed finger* list. So I need a lead guitarist...
