I've been using Limewire but it's not great and am wondering what else I should look at instead. Any thoughts?

I predict this thread lasting 9 posts long :D

I wouldn't touch anything like Limewire, Emule, Edonkey, etc... due to the amount of crap and/or trojans that you can pick up.

allofmp3.com for MP3 and BitTorrent for the odd TV series that I can't get here in France.

    4 and counting!

I just checked out allofmp3.com, is that for real? Entire albums seem to be only a little over a dollar. Incredible! Is the quality always good?

I'd suggest you do a search for it on this site. There's enough threads open about allofmp3 :)

Limewire, when I actually bothered using one, which is about once a week....

Winmx used to be the best IMO and since it was shut down I haven't bothered....torrents are the best though definately out of the lot

PS - as someone said, the amount of absolute sh!te on Ares, Limewire, Bearshare, etc is unreal

    /me thrusts you

Personally, bitT, and for the smaller single files I need, I hit Phex.

Nope. The best I can get out of Rapidshare is 250kb/sec the few times I tried it while BitTorrent will give me 1.5Mb/sec.

As madmike18 said, an unmoderated source where you don't know what you have until it's downloaded isn't worth the bother.

to be fair though. Torrents are rarely not what they claim. A lot less than on p2p networks anyways
