Its been out a week in the US and its supposed to be available in the EU a couple of days from now.

Can anyone recommend anywhere cheaper & preferably in or close to Ireland?
( other than bit-torrent? )
[...thats where I got BF2 when it first came out, but I stopped playing when the non-serial-checking servers/games disappeared.
I figure now Ive got time to play, I guess Ill (have to) get a legit version]

Yup to be able to play on ranked servers you will need a legit copy.Don't forget the bug-free patches.1.3 should do you.

i would reckon that your the cheapest way to get it is from ebay. I found 2 similar auctions and they seem legit.

I just picked up a copy in town yesterday:

they were out of stock at Gamestop,
so it was e49.50 (e55 less 10% for student) at HMV.

Im just having some problems setting up my online account,
ironic considering I had no problems when I used to use my illegal copy :rolleyes:
it says "...not connecting with server" or something like that
too many people on the account server or the name i'm trying to use is already taken perhaps?

(as for eBay, Ive bought and sold stuff several times, but after winning an auction and paying by paypal for a video card from a guy in the US last week - hes not replying to emails, his ebay account has become unregistered and his phone just rings out - looks like ill have a lengthy and only partial refund process to go through with ebay/paypal ... i guess ill be giving ebay auctions a miss for the time being)

just trying to decide the order in which to do my unlocks now:

so far I've unlocked G36/Spec Ops & M95/Sniper (when sniping: I frequently find my shots dont hit their mark, even though I know theyre dead-on?)

usually I'm a Med, but for some reason I didnt like the L85A1 when I previously used it...and using the DAO would make me look like a trigger happy noob

The scope on the M95 is awful, big thick lines. Apparently theres weapon drop and delay, so if there distant you might want to aim ahead of them and above them. I prefer the M24 or Type 88 (the Chinese rifle?) although killing chopper/jet pilots before they take off is a huge bonus
