I'm urgently looking for a automatic selector cable for a 1976 Rover P6 3.5 V8. If someone has one scrapped or can loan me one to get a copy of it I would be very grateful. I've tried everywhere, here and the U.K. without success. Any info or pointers please.

If you get one to copy, I think Indespension dealers used to be able to make up marine throttle/gear cables, they'd be the same sort of push/pull cable you'd be after

Thanks for that bushy, there's no problem getting one made up. There a guy in a van down my way every week will make one up in the back of the van. The problem is the pattern. The previous owner took it out to get one made up and lost it and now I have nothing to go on.

    Hi,

Have you tried Speedy Cables, Parts For Older Cars and the likes of Red Hat Rovers (01480 890224) in the UK? Or maybe one of P6 clubs over there? There are a number of P6 parts suppliers in Practical Classics - heres a few of them:

    J.R. Wadhams - 01205 870805
    John Wearing - 01254 386935
    Ely Service - 01353 662981

The P6 club might be a good place to try (www.p6club.com).

You've probably tried some/all of these already but I've posted them just in case. There are a number of transmission specialists over there too who may be able to help - somebody has to supply them...

    Hope this helps...

    Hi,

There may be one or two people in the Irish rover club @ rover.ie look under the "committee" heading on the left of the home page. You will find a couple of contact numbers. Joe Whealan is probabaly the most likely to have what you need. By the way, you don't have the extra long wheel nuts for the S-trim wheel covers for a P6?

Thanks for the replies everyone, I don't have any spares for Rovers spidersonmars, I'm just trying to finish off a customers car.
