No matter what dvd program I use. No sound comes out of the speakers! What's up with that?

    Any help appreciated.

Is it just the dvds? Will an mp3 on your hard drive play for you? You might be missing the sound cable from the dvd rom to the soundcard (doubtful though)

have you got a dvd decoder ? or are you just using winamp/windows media player ectect to play it? or are you using power dvd and the likes of them. as without the decoder i dont think any software media player such as winamp windows media player will play them properly. also check start > control panel > and depending on your sound chip check anything in there to do with sound
