Travel Insurance Claim

    Ok paid €600 for flights for a hol and can't go now due to personal reasons. I stand to lose this money unless I get them sold. Alot of money to lose!! Other idea is, I have a friend who is a doctor and thinking of getting a note of sickness and claiming from travel insurance.
    Just wondering how strict insurance companies are and if they will look for more than a doctors cert??

    Did any of you have to claim before sue to sickess and get your money back?

    Have you read the T&C's of your policy?

    Do you know what it covers?

    If it were to cover you for an illness I'm quite sure a doctors note would be sufficient. You shouldn't write on here how you'll get it though :D

    The VHI website details exactly what you need to submit to claim on travel insurance. I'm sure most insurance companies look for the same stuff so have a look there:
