I got myself a new hdtv the other day. I'm using it as a PC monitor by day and as a 360 viewing device by night. But am I missing something or is there no way of hooking up a 360 via the hdmi input? I'm currently using the component cables and it looks good, but according to my manual, the hdmi would be even better...

Gotta buy a 360 HDMI lead.

There is no 360 HDMI lead, and TBH the difference would be minimal.

VGA is usually better for connecting to hdtv unless your hdtv has a native resolution of 1280x720. In which case 720p via component will look very nice

Ah yes, just bought one myself. Watching it now. Ok you'll get a better picture on xbox360 if you get yourself an official xbox360 VGA cable. Then on your dashboard set the resolution to 1360x768. This is really close to the native resolution of the tv so the picture doesnt have to be scaled. You'll also notice the picture isnt as dark

Even cheaper on Amazon (not when you factor in shipping, I guess, but I've already got a large basket ready to go)

make sure your tv has a vga, input socket,15pin, before you buy a cable, read manual, its like socket on your,pc graphics card.less than an inch rectanglar.it,ll probably have label, vga. as opposed to hdmi standard.

Just wanted to let people know that I got my vga lead (finally) last night from play.com. Had a bit of trouble connecting it up - the vga slot on my tv is a very awkward spot. But once I got it, maaaaan. GRAW looks frigging awesome and if it wasn't so late I would've had a look at RSTT to see the sweat....

I'd recommend using a VGA cable to everyone that has a compatible tv.
