Hey all, have just become the proud owner of an Audi A2. It's from August 2001 and has 66,000 miles on it. Just want to know about the cambelt. It hasn't been done yet. The manual says 80,000, but I've heard of people getting them done earlier. Anyone know a good place around Dublin/Kildare? How specialised is this? Should I have an Audi stealer do it? Thanks for help

60,000 is the wise time to do it its not a specialist job any good indy grage can do it. You might want to change the water pump at the same time as one is driven off the other and a tensioned new belt will damage aging pump bearings causing leaks, overheating etc!

The A2 has a sealed engine bay to my knowledge. VAG may only have the tools for this, I'm not sure to be honest.

The bonnet has to be removed to work on them. not sure if a special tool is needed for this

The bonnet has two catches that allow it to be lifted off. One day even that won't be possible.
