Just got this game on saturday for the DS, I didnt think id' enjoy it as much as i do, but theres theres some really great exercises to do to help improve your memory and general brain functions.Like speed reading and simple maths questions, Theres also suduku puzzles to solve. Id advise anyone with a DS to check this game out, it's only €30 too :)

My brain age was 43 to start, now its gone down to 35 over the last few days.apparantly getting to 20 or close to your actual age is the target.

Hopefully my copy will arrive tomorrow... looking forward to playing it; soduku is a good plus too... got Under The Knife too, so I imagine I'll be playing that and switching to Brain Age every now and again.

its a fantastic complement for another game, as the training and age check can only be done once a day, but is not really worth it as a game in its own right. Unless you enjoy doing the sudoku's cos there's 70ish in total in the beginner and intermediate levels (advanced isnt unlocked at the start). the beginner ones take anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes and the intermediate ones anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour (not including the penalties).

I got these 2 games too, they're fantastic. Want to get ace attorney too. Heard it's great. Brain training is tougher than I expected. Some excercises get really tough. Great way to kill time during the morning coffee. Sudoku rocks too. It plays great with the stylus.

Phonix Wright: Ace Attorney is a great game IMO. Very long too. All works off touch screen or buttons (touch screen is easier IMO). I'm on the 5th trial. The game switches between gathering clues and being in court and finding contradictions in witnesses testimonies. This stops it becoming repetitive as your never doing one of the tasks for too long. The graphics and some of the writing are very clever aswell. It's worth the cash IMO and I was reluctant to buy anything with the word attorney in the name.

I got it and play it once a day for about 10 minutes, I am a casual gamer. Tis a good laugh and I enjoy the graph features for checking my progress.

I have it a week now...

I'm holding fast at a brain age of 32... can't seem to get it any higher... that one where you count the people in the house is really tough.

I'm not convinced by the whole "brain age" concept, at least not as its tested in the game. Looking at my graph, it's made up of massive 'W's with my brain age twenty one day and sixty the next. Regardless, as a game it's good fun, particularly bettering yourself at the training minigames.
that one where you count the people in the house is really tough.

Have you unlocked Hard mode? MENTAL.

have this myself since the lite was released. been playing it every day going through all the training then doing the check :P When i started it was 42 and i got it down to 21 yesterday some of the traging i like. the head count in hard is just crazy. It opened for me yesterday and i tought it wasn't too bad till the started going in and out the chimney too!

myself and kenzutz have been trying to beat each other every day. HE comes out top each time...

I like the sudoku kinda getting into it. Im half way through all the beginner ones, but i reckon it will take me a while to get used to playing the Intermediate and hard games.

The lowest I've gotten is 22 (i'm twenty). Tried it last night after a few pints and got 53 :D

Yeah, mine has been flying from mid-40's to mid-30's.. once I got somewhere in the 60's too..

Still a good game, good fun. Just got 5/5 in the head count (not the hard one), the last of the five always threw me because it was so fast and I assume I can expect more of the same once I unlock hard!
it's a bit annoying when it doesn't recognise your words/numbers... I played the word memory game one (which I suck at by the way) and spend 2 of the 3 minutes trying to get it to recognise the letter 'i', or 'l' instead of 'c' etc.

it took me ages to realise you had to put a dot on your "i" and keep the slanty bits of the "k" down low.

The word memory is the worst, and I can never do the "colour not the word" game because, people will think I am mentaler talking to myself on the train.

red, blue, black, blue yellow, bellow eh I mean yellow

I love it though the word recognition in the Word Memory game annoys me a bit. I've learned how to write the letters in certain ways so it knows what they are. I especially like the way it gets you to draw pictures of certain things and then compares your pictures to everyone elses.

I actually managed to get a Brain Age of 20 once, strangely enough it was at the airport at 8am, after about 4 hours sleep!

Got this with my DS Lite but swapped it a few days later for MP: Hunters. It's an impressive novelty but on balance, it is not worth the cost of a new game.

I just got it today - on my first go my brain age was 69! Uh oh O_o
It took me 40 minutes to finish the first sudoku puzzle too. I think I need practise...

Mad laugh though - definately worth the 30 squids.

Deffo worth the money, I got it over the weekend and the Sudoko is averaging me 7 minutes each puzzle!! My Brain age was 76 cos the GF was sitting behind me making noise and I couldn't concentrate but its not 46 odd!!

I finally got down to twenty a few days ago. Also unlocked head count hard mode...it destroyed me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,809 ✭✭✭Stokolan

OMG. yeah that head count hard got me too. I tought it was ok when it first started but when you get to the third turn it goes Beserk! i can only manage to get 3/5 each time on it.

I managed to knock my age down to 41 today. Do ye usually do the age test after all the training or before?
