    Hi all,

I'm after starting up running in the last 3 weeks and I'm after getting this huge bulging varciouse vein doen my inside leg. I feel uncomfortable wearing shorts now so I wear tracksuits. Is there any way I can get rid of it ..... and if I keep exercising will it get bigger!!!!!

The only cure for a varicose vein is surgery.

You really should talk to your doctor about it. Wearing a compression bandage on it while you are exercising can work only in the short term but it will NOT cure it.

As far as I know it is keyhole surgery where they tie off the affected vein. It is very effective. You would have to modify your taining for about 4-6weeks after to allow for recovery.

You might be better posting in the biology/medicine you would get a more detailed response. Better still talk it over with your doctor.
