i'm trying to find the best way to acnchor the hinge posts for a pair of steel driveway gates into the brick pillars. The bricks are the type with holes drilled and are very "mushy" so i dont think standard fixings would work. Thinking about chemical anchor and threaded bar but not too sure. any advice appreciated.

    cheers,
    jack

    Hi Jack,

Not sure if this will help but I have seen box steel fixed into the ground beside the pillers and the gates hung off the steel.

Is there any chance that you can remove the cappings and secure the brackets through the pillars ?
