    Hi Guys

I've a system with ATI X700SE graphics hanging off the PCIe slot.

Bought an PCI FX5200 to allow me to have a multi monitor setup, but the system just goes black every time i run setup, with the monitor reporting an "out of range" error

    Any ideas ?

    thanks

    Will

Either you can't run two video cards in that setup like that or:

You refresh rate for that monitor is set too high. Go into safe mode and adjust your video settings to a lower refresh rate.

Right click on your desktop then select properties-> Settings -> Click Advanced

Then on the next window go to the Monitor tab and change the Refresh Frequency to 60 Hertz and then reboot and see if it works.

You can then keep upping this slightly when you have windows up and running. The 15 second confirmation will make sure it will switch back to the previous settings if you lose picture.

To be honest the best solution for multi monitor is a single graphics card with dual outputs.

Thanks eskimo, just discovered my ATI card has dual heads !!! DOH !!!

Just need DVI to VGA convertor to use on 2nd monitor.

Guess one of my friends is getting a present of the 5200

BTW, changed my refresh rate from 75 to 60, and my display is much more crisp, thanks for the advice.
