Thinking of selling

    Hi All,

    It turns out that my job is pretty flexible re: hours and my need for my bike is not there anymore really :/ I have a car too you see and it is expensive to keep both of them running.

    Now, I bought the bros for €1350 and it needed work:

    * new speedo cable
    * new fork seal
    * new brake switch
    * chain needed clean and lube
    * spark plugs changed
    * new front ignition coil
    * lights wiring freshened up
    * oil and oil filter changed
    * air filter cleaned
    * flyscreen fitted
    * exhaust sanded and sprayed black (had surface rust)
    * mirror and bracket replaced on left hand side
    * 2 bar end blindspot mirrors fitted.

    I've spent a fair bit on the bike and what I really want to know is if I could sell it for about 1500 (or a wee bit more) euro consdiring the work put in. the bike has about 41k miles on the clock and tires, brakes etc are in fine order. Bike is sprayed yellow which is nice.

    Bike is a '90 pic: http://www.iol.ie/~baz8080/img/bike/bros.jpg

    Do you guys think i could get a sale at that price? If not what would you think a reasonable one would be? Thanks.

    Is this a 400 or 650 ??

    I presume the list of work is work DONE and not work needed ?

    If this is the case then my missus is very interested, especially at that price.

    Could I see the bike soon ?.

    Hi K-Tric.

    It's a 400, more specifically a 400 Mk 2. I think the only difference is that it has programmed ignition over the Mk 1. I just re-read my post and realised that it was vague on the work done :oYes It has been done. I have the bike up near the red-cow at the moment and sure you can look at it sometime during the week.

    I'm sad at the thought of selling the bike. I've only had it a few months but reality is giving me a kick in the ass. :( I'll be out of college this time next year so I'll be able to get back on the saddle then.

    The exhaust is a mori-waki one by the way - has a lovely tone.

    Sounds good to me , I'm near Walkinstown round-about, so not far from the Red Cow. Give me a shout during the week and I'll take a look at it.

    My missus has been going on about a Bros 400 for years, its about time she bought one. :D
