    Hi,

Studying english in Ireland seems very expensive from what i've discovered. The cheapest 52week course is 4000euro!! Maddness!!

My girlfriend(from Asia) is coming over next year. I'm trying to find the cheapest college (and course which allows her to work 20hrs per week). She would prefer a working visa obviously but can't see how this is possible without computer expertise or nursing qualification etc.

Has anyone any experience of this? Recommend college/course or visa advice?
    Thanks

I teach EFL and all I can tell you is the good schools do charge quite a lot, but they also take better care of their students and aren't likely to rip them off, as some schools have been reported to do in the media. Most students coming over come on a study visa and have to complete 20 hours a week of lessons which usually means morning lessons Mon- Fri so if they want to work it would have to be in the afternoon or evening. There are some schools that do evening courses (such as the one I work for) and they might give her the option of 4 nights a week leaving her free to work during the day. You should find out what she wants from lessons and how much she's willing to spend and then just talk to some of the schools themselves, that will give you an idea of whether or not it's a good school. ;)

The ISI in fitzwilliam square, I was working there a while ago and I'm fairly sure it's cheaper than that, though medical insurance etc tends to have to be paid...
