Unlucky or bad play?

Ok myself and a friend are playing heads-up for tiny stakes... Nevertheless, it's quite competitive... We start at 3,000 chips and freeze blinds at 25/50 cos our games last 15-20 minutes this way most of the time....

We've been playing for about 10 minutes and the action has been see-sawing back and forward...

    Me: 3,600
    Him 2,400

I'm on SB and get dealt J2o - I complete and Villain checks....

    Flop comes 22Tr (100)

Villain bets 200 - I tell him I have a low pocket pair (It's not impossible for me to limp with this H-U) and I don't think he has any of the flop...so I call He tells me he's betting his 10

    Turn brings A (500)

He bets 500 and I tell him I think my 2 pair is still good...

    River T (1500)

He bets 1,000 - I call and he shows me the Ten he told me he had all along while I show him how lucky he was to hit that river...

We have a debate about the hand in the aftermath and I maintain that it was pure luck that he won the hand - he didn't play it particularly well - He argues that I played it worse because I should have raised the turn and tried to end it there... I think I was justified in my trap hoping he'd fire a third bet on the river....

I'm looking for feedback of the way we both played this hand if possible...

Your call on the river is bad, and your speech play is worse

Do you not trust your friends with your money?

I reckon he plays it fine.

You should lead the turn after he bets the flop, or reraise but I prefer to call and lead most of the time.

Hasn't he declared his hand thus making it dead technically (I know this is a home game)? Or would that require you to know both cards?

I should really read posts before replying.

You should raise the turn in that case.

I was the villain in this hand - I posted it from my friends POV so that when I show him this thread, (he's a non-Boardie) he might see that my explanation as to why he allowed me to get lucky is supported.... If roles were reversed, I think I might've even raised the flop bet but I definitely raise the turn.

Once he called my turn bet, I was shutting down until I saw the river... Don't know why he called the river - I'm fairly sure he believed I had the T by then.

Sangre, in our home games, that dead cards rule don't apply unless you show them in the while betting is still taking place...
